Knockaround Media Buys MafiaLife Asset To Build on Facebook

Brooklyn, New York (MafiaLife.com) –  A deal between Brooklyn’s Aifam-Life, Inc., and Oregon’s Knockaround Media, LLC, finalized an asset buyout which makes Knockaround Media the new owner of MafiaLife assets.

This finalized deal will essentially turn the MafiaLife game from a “mom-and-pop” mobster game website, to a powerhouse competitor on the Facebook application platform, competing against the likes of Zynga’s Mafia Wars.

Although a few other mafia-based games have made their way on the social media platform before MafiaLife, MafiaLife has been on the Internet at least 3 years longer than all other mafia games, but did not have proper funding. MafiaLife’s unique real-time strategy gameplay, along with its ability to put the user in the role of a virtual mobster, working interactively with a virtual crew, in a virtual mafia crime family, puts Mafialife in a class of its own. MafiaLife is now gearing up to take the industry by storm.

Aifam-Life’s President Chris Chiarmonte has been named President of the new company. Chiarmonte, who has been dubbed ‘MafiaLife Chris’ by Sirius XM Radio’s ‘The Ron and Fez Show’, issued a statement saying that the only thing that was stopping this game from being the giant it deserves to be was the lack of funding. “We knew as soon as we got the funding, the MafiaLife enterprise would explode.”

“Soon, every mob enthusiast will be joining the virtual mafia,” said Knockaround Media Lead Developer Anthony Vos. “Especially with the world’s new spark of love for mafia-themed entertainment in new shows such as VH1?s ‘Mob Wives’ and HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’. A lot of people love the mafia stuff,” he continued. “They still watch The Godfather, Goodfellas, and reruns of The Sopranos whenever they get the chance.”

“The other games out there are ok, but we feel they failed to conquer the level of interaction and depth a true mob enthusiast is looking for. MafiaLife has always made you feel like you are a true mobster, like no other game can. Now, the Facebook world gets to see that,” said MafiaLife Chris.

Knockaround Media plans to launch the first version of the MafiaLife for Facebook application sometime early in 2012 with features that help the virtual mobster pull off big jobs and petty crimes, as well as own and operate businesses to control territories. Users will be able to pit player vs. player with shootings, beatings, pickpocketing, and blowing up other users’ businesses as well. Users will be able to work in a virtual crew, or family, or start their own business with their very own crime family tree ranking system. Players can be an associate, captain, underboss or even a Don or consigliere on the new MafiaLife for Facebook game.

A Pre-Launch campaign has been rolled out on the MafiaLife.com fan page on Facebook, where fans can ‘like’ the page, and pre-join the crime family of their choice ahead of time. Giveaways will be awarded to the largest crime family, with other giveaways awarded daily to random fans.
